A Brutal Marathon in the Dolomites
The race unfolded over 82 kilometers with a punishing 3,400 meters of climbing through the spectacular Dolomites around Primiero. Known for its technical climbs, rocky descents, and relentless altitude changes, the Mythos is a true test of rider endurance, equipment reliability, and race-day strategy.

For Metallurgica Veneta, it was yet another weekend of consistency and quality:

  • Diego Arias finished 8th after battling all day at the sharp end of the race.
  • Jacopo Billi rode strongly in the top group for most of the event but suffered a late crash in the final descent. Even so, he secured a valuable 10th place.
  • Maria Zarantonello delivered her best Mythos result to date, climbing to 6th in the women’s race after pacing herself smartly through the early kilometers.

  • These results extend the team’s incredible run of 17 consecutive top-10 finishes in international and national XC and XCM races since June 2025.

Manitou Suspension: Precision and Reliability for XCM Racing
Racing in the Dolomites demands suspension that balances efficiency for climbing with control on technical descents. The team’s choice of Manitou R8 XC forks, combined with the Mara Pro IL shock and Ace/Deuce remote lockout, allowed riders to switch seamlessly between efficient climbing modes and plush descending performance.

  • The R8 fork’s 34mm Hyperlite chassis and ultra-light 1,480g weight made it the ideal choice for conserving watts on long ascents.
  • The Mara Pro IL XC shock gave the team elite-level tunability and reliability across long, punishing stages.
  • The Ace/Deuce remote lever provided complete on-the-fly control of fork, shock, and dropper—essential in a race with constant elevation changes.

  • Together, this XC racing suspension package delivered confidence, control, and the ability to handle the unique demands of marathon racing in the Dolomites.

    Eyes on the Future
The Mythos Primiero Dolomiti was not just another key race—it also served as a preview of the 2026 UCI Marathon World Championships, which will be hosted on the same course. With three top-10 finishes and valuable race experience, Metallurgica Veneta MTB Pro Team leaves Fiera di Primiero with confidence and momentum for the rest of the season.

As the team looks toward the World Cup finale and the World Championships, their results confirm one thing: Metallurgica Veneta, powered by Manitou, is consistently among the best in the world of XC and XCM racing.
